Exterior Building Renovation Provides Fresh New Face To Grand Traverse Heritage Center

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – The building renovation project at Grand Traverse Heritage Center provides a fresh new face on the exterior of this historic site.

The project is supported by a grant from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs and funds from The City of Traverse City Public Improvement Fund.

According to Patti DeAgostino, Executive Director of the Grand Traverse Heritage Center, the project includes window and door rehabilitation. The exterior windows are scheduled to be cleaned, repaired or replaced, prepped and painted. Similarly, the window trim, soffit, fascia, and cornice will receive attention.

In addition, the front entrance door to what is referred to as the former “Carnegie Building” will be removed and replaced.

The rehabilitation project is under the supervision of City Engineer Timothy J. Lodge for the City of Traverse City. Ken Richmond of Richmond Architecture, Traverse City, monitored the rehabilitation on behalf of the Grand Traverse Heritage Center.
